I’m a huge admirer of Jeremy Grantham. His analysis is simple and clear, based on the numbers and taken over meaningful time-frames.
He called the Japanese bubble in ’91, the Tech bubble in ’99 and the US housing bubble in ’08.
For a long time he has talked and written about his environmental concerns: that as a planet we simply cannot go on using up our resources at the rate we are doing and survive.
In this interview he makes a very convincing case for us to be worried, but he offers two solutions: a decline in the population and advances in renewable energy technology.
I’d recommend watching the entire interview – he is very insightful – but the piece on renewable energy is from 24:20
