P2P ISA Consultation Finally Launched
The 2014 Budget announced that Peer-to-peer (P2P) lending will be allowed into the New ISA (NISA). After months of no news, the UK Government has finally launched a month long consultation. In conjunction with the P2P industry, the government is determining how best to include P2P investments within the tax wrapper. The NISA already allows for up to £15,000 and free transfer between shares and cash, and including P2P loans in NISAs could be a potential “tipping point” for the P2P lending market.
