Work with the experts and take their advice. • Remember that buyers do detailed due diligence Take time to prepare and make sure your business stands up. • Listen to the market and avoid being a forced seller. Only sell when the marketplace is ready to buy. • Share bad news early It will be difficult for a buyer to chip your price if you’ve already disclosed your problems. • Wait for the buyer’s offer and never disclose your price. 6 SALES AND MARKETING • It’s your products and services market positioning and business model that will determine your long-term success.
